Philip Tirone is … unusual.
He believes in drinking small amounts of peroxide to oxygenate his blood. He once sent President Clinton a seven-day bowel detoxification program because he thought the former president looked unhealthy. He attends daily Mass. As a father of three, he loves Disneyland more than his kids do, and he impresses his wife by rapping a PG-version of “Straight Outta Compton.”
Philip believes that unique situations create an exceptional man. As a young man, he volunteered in Calcutta with Mother Teresa. He once lived in an 800-square-foot home in Mexico with nine people and no running water. He almost entered the Catholic seminary; when he realized he was not being called to the priesthood, he created a program that increased enrollment to the priesthood for the Los Angeles diocese by 5000 percent in two years.
He becomes engrossed in everything he does—for better or worse. He is most likely the only man alive to pass out from eating too much ice cream. He has taken hundreds of hours of private dance lessons, even though he lacks rhythm. (During his 52nd lesson, his dance instructor asked him if he listened to the music, to which he responded, “No. Am I supposed to?”) He has spent countless hours and more than $500,000 on personal coaching and development.
He never quits.
Professional
Philip is the ultimate comeback kid.
He was denied entrance into all universities except one, which accepted him on the condition that he enrolled in remedial English. Four years later, he graduated from Arizona State University as Man of the Year.
He has been an entrepreneur from the start, buying and selling gold and silver in elementary school, and later establishing a car audio resale business in high school. As a mortgage broker, he created 720CreditScore.com to help his clients increase their credit scores and improve their financial situation. Originally a book and workbook, the product expanded to become an infomercial, a teleseminar, and an online wealth-enhancement course.
Philip believes in multipliers, and he refuses every opportunity—no matter how grand—unless he can affirmatively answer two questions: Will this opportunity give me more time with my family? and Can this opportunity be leveraged without relying on my time?
Philip has been a member of Dan Sullivan’s Strategic Coach inner circle for ten years. He also is a member of several Internet marketing mastermind groups.
Personal
Philip and his wife–Lily Tirone–consider their children to be little souls who are on loan to them for eighteen years, during which time their first priority is the upbringing of their children.
Prior to having a family, he was a workaholic. Today, his goal is to spend more time with his family and less time at work. His family’s goal is to spend quality time together each summer by spending three months abroad. Last year was the first step: The family spent almost the entire month of August in Paris.
Philip’s mantra is to be the type of man he wants his daughter to marry.
Philip is a private pilot and an active member of the Catholic Church and the National Center for Fathering.
